What is a Coffee Bean?
A coffee "bean" is the seed in the fruit ("cherry") grown on a coffee plant. After the plant flowers, cherries form from the spent flowers. Cherries ripen through the growing season which takes about 9 months. Cherry color varies depending on the variety from bright yellow to red.
