In the remote highlands of 9th century Abyssinia, now Ethiopia, a lone goatherder named Kaldi noticed his goats were full of energy, dancing and prancing, after eating a small red fruit from a nearby shrub.
We honor the discovery of coffee by making coffee worth dancing about. That means sustainably sourcing coffee from long-time producing partners and serving coffee with passion and expertise. It means making every cup delicious by focusing on what we do best: finding delicious coffees, roasting them with intent and care, and serving them to you with passion and energy.

We’re proud to have decades-long relationships with many of our coffee producers around the world, promoting sustainable, environmentally-friendly processes that result in the best beans.
PROCESSING
Our growing partners are the best at what they do. The cherries are picked at peak ripeness, milled, sorted, and shipped across the world.
ROASTING
Our artisan roasters don’t begin roasting your beans until you’ve ordered them. That ensures maximum freshness for every order. It’s how we make sure you have the best cup of coffee possible.
BREWING
All of our staff receive in-depth training from our award-winning coffee instructors. Our baristas don’t even get to use the machine until they’ve spent a few months learning just the right way to make your drink.
