An occasional thorough washing is a great way to ensure you get a lifetime of use out of your CHEMEX®. Simply remove the wooden collar and hand wash with warm soap and water, or place the coffeemaker securely in the dishwasher.

  • Q: Is the CHEMEX® coffee maker dishwasher safe?
    A: Yes, remove the leather tie and wood collar first.
  • Q: Can you use non-CHEMEX® brand filters with the CHEMEX Coffee Maker?
    While you could technically fold large #6 filters to fit in the CHEMEX® we do not recommend it. A lot of what makes the CHEMEX® flavor so distinct is the high density filters made specifically for the CHEMEX®.
