Our Decatur cafe has been around for a minute. Since 2007 actually. It's the OG of DG - that’s almost 20 years of morning rituals, first dates, study sessions, neighborhood catch-ups and countless cups of delicious locally roasted coffee. And after all that time, we think she deserves a little love.
So starting this month, Dancing Goats Decatur is getting a refresh.
Don't worry - we're not changing what makes Decatur feel like Decatur. Our cafe designer has come up with some great ways to bring the cafe up to date while keeping all the warmth and personality we love. We're talking fresh paint, wallpaper, new furniture and a few updates behind the bar. We are even going to give some love to the hardworking floorboards that are starting to show their age... We also might even look into reimagining our pastry case to make everything easier to see and shop. Because nobody should have to hunt for a croissant or quiche right?!
The timing feels especially good - fall is in the air and with new coffee bag designs, new merch dropping soon and fresh energy throughout our brand, we're excited to give our original cafe a fresh chapter too. We'll do our best to keep disruption to a minimum but we are going to have to close for a little bit to make these updates happen quicker. When that happens, we're planning to pop-up outside on our patio so that coffee service doesn't get too disrupted. In other words Decatur doesn't have to go uncaffeinated while we work.
And when it's all finished? Obviously, we party.
We’re dreaming up a little reopening celebration for the neighborhood that’s been showing up for this café for decades. (Goat petting zoo? We’re not saying no.) Dancing Goats has called Decatur home since ’07, and now our OG is getting a refresh for the years ahead. We can’t wait to open the doors, make some coffee and show you around.
