This naturally decaffeinated mild coffee exhibits hints of nut and citrus.
A medium body and mild acidity with notes of hazelnut and orange zest make this coffee easy to enjoy throughout the day and into the evening. In addition to brewed coffee, Organic Decaf Peru produces a shot of espresso that is sure to please.
This special coffee will have you second guessing if you are indeed drinking decaf.
INGREDIENTS: Organic Arabica Coffee Beans
ROASTERS NOTES:
The Aprocassi Cooperative was established in 2000, currently has about 425 members. The Coop was originally founded to empower the area’s land holders, in an attempt to thwart the encroachment of mining operations.
Located in the Northern part of Peru close to the Ecuadorian border, this area is known to have rich deposits of gold, silver, and other minerals. The region's temperate climate has an average temperature of 24 degrees Celsius (76° F) and hosts a wide array of wildlife species, including tapirs and toucans.
There are several wet mills in close proximity to the production areas, where the beans are washed and traditionally fermented in concrete tanks. Dancing Goats® Coffee contracts with the Swiss Water Decaf Company in Vancouver B.C. where they use a 100% chemical-free method to remove 99.9 % of the caffeine from our Fair-Trade Decaf Organic Peru.
ROAST PROFILE:
PLEASE NOTE: The decaffienation process affects the pigmentation of the beans, causing them to darken, appearing more aggressively developed than they actually are.
CUP CHARACTERISTICS:
Fair-Trade Organic Peru Decaf is sweet and chocolaty, with hints of orange and spice. We have found that this coffee performs incredibly well as an espresso and balances harmoniously with milk. We also recommend enjoying the Peru as a drip coffee or even as a cold brew.
