Environmental Leadership
All coffees from Batdorf & Bronson Coffee Roasters are produced using 100% renewable energy. The Green-E logo is proudly featured on our coffee bags and represents our commitment to reducing our environmental footprint. Our Olympia roastery uses solar energy to power the computer and phone system and has a stringent recycling and composting program in place.
This leadership has been recognized by an award from the Governor of the State of Washington and charter membership in the EPA's Green Power Partnership. Long before it was fashionable to be green, Batdorf & Bronson Coffee Roasters was doing the right thing and reducing the environmental impact of its production, administration and retail facilities.
Batdorf & Bronson Coffee Roasters is very happy to announce that we are winners of the 2007 Environmental Protection Agency's Beacon Award for Marketing, which was presented to us on October 22. The award was given to Batdorf & Bronson, four Western Washington utility companies, the Bonneville Environmental Foundation and Seattle broadcaster KING5-TV. This group worked together to encourage citizens of Western Washington to purchase renewable energy as part of their monthly utility payment. Batdorf & Bronson provided the incentive gift of one pound of Dancing Goats blend for each consumer participating in the program and over 9,000 power customers signed up during the campaign. We are very pleased to be recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for our participation in this outstanding campaign to promote sustainability.
For more information on how you can join us in choosing renewable energy, contact your local power utility or visit www.greentagsusa.org to learn more about purchasing carbon offsets for your residence or business.
